 TRADE NOTICE NO-1 / AM-05

                    Kind attention of the Trade is invited to para 4.1.13 of chapter 4 of Foreign Trade Policy-2004-2005 wherein it is mentioned that the prohibited items of import mentioned in ITC (HS) Classification shall not be imported under DES Scheme. However it is noted that   no such enabling provision is made available under chapter 5 of the Foreign Trade Policy-2004-05 dealing with EPCG Scheme. A reference has been made to DGFT, New Delhi for clarification.                                                                                                                      

                In view of the above, trade is hereby advised to submit a declaration to the effect that the items sought for import under the EPCG Scheme does not fall under restricted as well as prohibited list of items as per ITC(HS) Classification clearly indicating the ITC(HS) Code of the items while preferring  the application under the EPCG Scheme.
