 TRADE NOTICE No.1/ AM 09  DATED : 23/06/2008

 Sub: Transfer of work pertaining to updating old IECs issued by STPI from the O/o.Zonal Jt.DGFT., CLA, New Delhi to the designated Regional Authorities.

            DGFT., New Delhi vide O&M Instruction No.10/2007 dated 29.06.2007 had decided to transfer the work pertaining to updating old IECs issued by STPI from EDI Section in HQRs., to the Office of the Zonal Joint Director General of Foreign  Trade, CLA, New Delhi.

             Vide O & M Instruction No.4/2008 dated 27.05.2008, DGFT., New Delhi have now decided to give the option to the IEC holder of STPI units to approach the designated Regional Authorities under whose jurisdiction the STPI Units are located for allotment of a fresh IEC and for cancellation of the old IEC.

 For this purpose, the IEC holder of a STPI unit has an option to make an application for cancellation of old IEC to the Regional Authorities of his jurisdiction.    Upon receipt of application for cancellation of old IEC, the same shall be forwarded to Office of the Zonal Joint Director General of Foreign  Trade, CLA., New Delhi for necessary action.  The STPI unit can simultaneously make an application for allotment of a fresh IEC with the Regional Authorities.  On receipt of confirmation of cancellation of the old IEC from Office of the Zonal Joint Director General of Foreign  Trade,  CLA., New Delhi , the applicant STPI unit will be considered for allotment of a fresh IEC by this office for the STPI units falling under the jurisdiction of this office.

            It is also informed that OM No.10/2007 dated 29.06.2007 shall remain operational for all residual IEC cases.

             Members of the Trade and STPI units in particular falling under the jurisdiction of the Office of the Zonal Joint Director General of Foreign  Trade, Chennai may avail of this facility.

             The Export Promotion Councils / FIEO / STPI may give wide publicity to this Trade Notice to their Registered Members.

            This has the approval of AEC/ZJDGFT on file.
